We host two mini-but-mighty writing competitions.
The annual Briefly Write Poetry Prize (BWPP) celebrates and rewards bold, succinct poetry.
We want well-crafted poems up to 10 lines. We want innovative language, strong imagery and a subtle, focused composition. Entries open each year in May, with results and winning poems published in November.
Since 2021, we have given out more than £275 in prizes through the BWPP. It it is free to enter and always will be.
Our second competition is Write 10, a tiny writing challenge for aficionados of micro fiction. The premise is simple: can you tell a full story in ten words?
Entries for Write 10 will open in February 2025. Free to enter, with cash prizes for the winning and shortlisted stories.
